Best relationship ever. Buddy films for the win.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm watching too much...
Or perhaps the problem isn’t too much TV, it’s not enough books.
Now, the crucial question: do I write a short story, or a novel?

I want to write a bromance/buddy/besties/bros...
I’m feeling short on inspiration…I just want to watch more Merlin. Or Psych, perhaps. Or something involving Holmes and Watson.

I feel that I have been very productive today
as I’ve watched two episodes of Merlin, am starting my second episode of Glee, washed all the dishes in the kitchen, tidied up the dining room and family room, picked ten cups of raspberries, walked the dog, chased the dog around the house, and eaten a lot of food.

Day 22 in England
I thought, oh, I’ll just walk half an hour to the Tube station, return my Oyster card. and walk back. One hour, ten minutes.
Two and a half hours later, after making a wrong turn and ending up almost where I started, returning my Oyster card, buying some food and drink at Tesco, and walking half a mile in the wrong direction before asking someone at a bus stop what street I was on, I made...

Day 21 in England
Since Tumblr deleted my last post, this will probably be less awesome that it would have been if Tumblr hadn’t deleted it.
The day started out boringly. I sat in the hostel watching The Big Bang Theory. Finally I decided I had better get out and do something, and I desperately wanted to go to London, so I left. I ran into my roommate immediately and we checked in and walked through the park...
Somehow I just lost my entire blog post that I...

Leaving the hostel was a great idea.
I ran into tonight’s roommate on the way and we walked through the park and went to McDonalds and Tesco and got Ribena Blackcurrant juice.
It was fun.
I’m sitting in a hostel watching The Big Bang Theory. I seriously think I should probably quit and go outside because I’m pretty sure it’s nice and sunny and it’s kind of boring in here and I can’t get my imagination to write stories so…outdoors.

Day 20 in England
Last class…so sad.
We had grand adventures getting from train to train. Only not really. We just had a lot of bags. A nice gentleman carried my bag up the stairs. Again.
You hear that, men?? That’s TWICE a man offered to help me with my suitcase up stairs in a train station!
It felt very nice sitting on a bench, watching the trains come and go, eating chocolate digestives.
We...

Day 19 in England
Last day in Cambridge.
We had class on Till We Have Faces, returned our bikes, and went punting.
We fell for all the punter’s untrue stories of Cambridge—though my favorite was when a student asked “What does ‘No Mooring’ mean?” and the punter replied, “Well, there used to be cows on these fields, and the signs meant that the cows couldn’t gather...

Golden Moments at Dinner with a Bunch of Wonderful...
S: Chew your prawns!!!!
(later)
*C reaches for water pitcher*
S: You've had enough to drink!
C: I am perfectly fine! *pours the water and completely misses cup*
(later)
J: Whenever people think I'm funny, I have flashbacks to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3.
(later)
S: You know how the Doctor controls time and space which holds the universe together? We should create an Aristotelian hero who controls love, which holds the universe together. We could call him the Love Lord.
H: A love lord is a pimp...
S: Love Doctor?
J: Love baron. Love dictator.
D: Dictator of the phileo-centric universe.

Day 18 in England
Oxford.
Serious CS Lewis veneration.
After almost 3 hours of travel, we walked about, got paninis at The Alternative Tuck Shop, looked at the outside of Christchurch, where they filmed the Great Hall scenes of Harry Potter (it cost to go in and there was a massive line of junior highers).
Then we got a tour of the Kilns, ate Turkish Delight in Lewis’ kitchen, saw the church he...

Day 17 in England
Day 17, Tuesday
Class was okay, meh, good, but not terribly enjoyable, but okay…something like that.
Straight after class, a whole bunch of went to Tyndale House where we helped a group from Texas do some service. We hacked, hoed, and shoveled up a large patch of overgrown garden and did some library data-entry and organization. It was sunny and it felt wonderful.
We walked, gardening...

Day 16 in England
Day 16, Monday.
After class, a couple of girls and I biked to The Orchard, a lovely tea place. It was gorgeous! We went through Grantchester Meadows and biked right past a bunch of brown cows. After taking our tea (and fending off a wasp), we walked down through another field and sat by the river to read. I had not brought my Kindle, so I took pictures until it started sprinkling rain.
We...

Just so I don't forget
Yesterday we had session on The Fowre Hymnes by Spenser, biked to Grantchester, had Indian takeout with the professors, and creeped on a performance of A Winter’s Tale.
Today we had session on In Memoriam, did some massive gardening at Tyndale House, had tea at Michaelhouse, and saw a performance of Antony and Cleopatra.
Tomorrow, Oxford. More detailed blog posts to follow—I feel the...

Stop saying we're stupid American tourists
We’re honors students studying abroad and we come from one of the greatest nations in the world.
We’ve read a book a day for the entire trip and spent two or three hours engaged in academic discussion of each day’s book—and we’re not talking Harry Potter here, we’re talking the sermons of Charles Simeon, the poetry of Edmund Spenser, Tennyson’s greatest...

Fiction from Cambridge
Antoine always wore a suit, even when he decided to cycle to Grantchester. His lanky legs looked even thinner on his well-used bicycle as he stood on the pedals to get a better view of the streets as he crossed. He glanced back at me, grinning, and turned onto a path covered and hedged in by lush green trees.
When we emerged, it was raining. Antoine threw his head back, catching the rain on his...
